A Short History of Computers and Computing   The word computer derives from the word ‘compute’, which means ‘to calculate’, The concept of counting is as old as the existence of human beings. An early human being used to count with the help of fingers. sticks, stones, bones. etc. Bur calculations with such objects has its own limitations and these calculations used to take a long time.
